Privacy Policy

The short version: RunStation has no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and no third-party analytics. Your health data stays on your device. The only data that ever leaves your device is motion-sensor data you explicitly opt in to share through Motion Lab.
Health data (Apple Health / HealthKit)
With your permission, RunStation reads workouts, heart rate, active and resting energy, walking/running distance, date of birth (to estimate maximum heart rate), and height, weight and biological sex from Apple Health, and saves your completed workouts back to Apple Health.
- Health data is processed on your device only and is never uploaded, with one exception: if you join Motion Lab, the body metrics listed below are included with your consent.
- Heart rate is never uploaded, in any case.
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never shared with third parties.
Motion Lab (optional, off by default)
Motion Lab is a research program that helps train RunStation's movement-recognition models. It requires your explicit opt-in and can be turned off anytime in Profile › Motion Lab.
If you join, the following is uploaded after each workout to our database (Apple CloudKit / iCloud):
- Motion-sensor samples from your watch (accelerometer and gyroscope) recorded during workouts;
- The workout structure: segment types, durations, rep counts, distances, weights;
- Body metrics: age, sex, height, weight (movement data is not comparable across body sizes without them);
- A random install identifier (a UUID generated on install — not your name, Apple ID, advertising ID, or anything that identifies you).
Never shared: your name, heart rate, location, and anything recorded outside workouts. Uploads are used only to train RunStation's movement recognition — never sold, never used for ads.
To have your uploaded data deleted, email us (address below). Because uploads carry only a random identifier, please include the install identifier shown in the app, or the approximate dates of your uploads, so we can locate them.
Everything else stays on your device
Training plans, workout history, and pace targets are stored locally on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Deleting the app deletes this data. We collect no email address, no location, no contacts, and no advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
Children
RunStation is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Material changes to what Motion Lab shares will additionally require renewed consent in the app.
